Once upon a time, there was no cable. There was no Internet. There were no home video games. In this not so long ago environment, children had to rely on an amazing resource for entertainment; their imagination.
From within this archaic world, a group of elementary school kids from Moore, Okla. joined forces to fight boredom head-on. They formed a singing group and stole their name from a Beach Boys’ hit. They called themselves the Vibrations. Other children called them the “awful Osmonds.”
With photographic evidence from 1974 and 1975 and a live recording from ’75, here's the result of their over active imaginations. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome...THE VIBRATIONS!

Sweet Jesus! Which one are you?!?!?!
Uh, the one with the guitar? Group pose, Butterfly outfit.
Oh dear, we were "twangy" weren't we? Man , we thought we were cool...
You know, instead of trying to "make it" in the pop market, we really should have gone country. The format leaned a little older then than it does now, so maybe it wouldn't have worked. But I could hear us busting out a rousing rendition of "Rhinestone Cowboy", couldn't you? Hey, why didn't we ever do that one??? LOL
I remember watching you guys practice in our garage - can't figure out why you didn't make it BIG !
Hey, Brett. Haven't heard from you in forever! Hope you're doing well.
"BIG" is probably a relative term. We thought Norman was big. lol Never made it out of Moore.
Wow! That brings back memories. You won't believe it, but I still have that shirt. LOL I'm not sure why I kept it all these years. My kids got a big laugh out of it and and even bigger one looking at the pictures. I told them we were really cool and could pack a school classroom for a performance. They were not impressed. Thanks Stacy for the laugh.
Hey, Beth! You know that our parents are partners in crime on the casino circuit these days! Very funny.
Glad you enjoyed the walk down Memory Lane.
Stacy
Thanks for the memories! The red jacket with patches looks like a cub scout leader jacket. My dad and mom each had one. Doesn't look like my dad's head though! BTW, I love Beth's shoes. My daughter got onto me for getting her some in grade school, what does she know anyway? And you guys were cool Tiff!!
